Library Specialist – Adult Services Team

The Platteville Public Library is accepting applications for a Library Specialist – Adult Services Team.

The Library is seeking a tech-savvy, collaborative individual with demonstrated research and customer service skills. This person will work with the Adult Services staff to answer reference questions, plan and execute events, maintain library collections, and select materials for purchase. Other responsibilities include circulation desk backup, processing new materials, and withdrawing weeded items from the collection. A copy of the complete position description can be found here.

Skills required
Strong computer skills, research skills, customer service skills, adaptability, and the ability to work as a team are necessary. Previous library experience is desirable.

Minimum education
Two years of study at an accredited college, university, or technical school.

Schedule
This is a half-time (20 hours/week) position. Work includes evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.
Wages
Starting wage is $16.84/hour. This position is eligible for leave benefits, including paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time.

The Argyle Public Library of Argyle, Wisconsin is accepting applications for the position of Library Director. The library is part of the Southwest Wisconsin Library System. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Exceptional public and community service skills
  • A strong background in technology 
  • An energy and passion for literacy
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and fiscal management knowledge
  • Library Administration experience is desirable
  • Ability to manage long range plans, library policies, annual reports and advising the Library Board of 5 members
  • Ability to work independently

Candidates must have at least 54 semester hours of college level work; at
least half of which must be in the liberal arts and sciences. Ability to obtain
Grade 3 Public Library Certification through the Wisconsin Department of
Public Instruction is required. Candidates who are not currently certified
have four years to complete required coursework.

20-24 hours/week. Some evening and weekend work is required. Pay will be
commensurate with experience and qualifications. No residency requirement.
